Baking powder is a raising agent that is specifically used for baking cakes. It works by producing carbon dioxide when a liquid is added, forming bubbles that cause the cake mixture to expand. This is why it is essential that the cake mixture is in a hot oven as quickly as possible after the wet ingredients have been added. Plastic tubs, once used please recycle. Each tub is 800g.
