Ridley's Local is already delivering great results for Bury St Edmund's independent hospitality businesses.
Launched in June, the new Ridley's Local service is exclusive to businesses operating within five miles of Bury St Edmunds and has already proven very popular with food and drink establishments in the town.
Thomas Ridley has always supplied wholesale food and drink products to the town. Now, with a new dedicated local van, Thomas Ridley can make even more local deliveries. Same day delivery is available, and delivery times are extended from 8am to 8pm, boosting trade.
Emma Wade, Area Sales Manager for Ridley's Local said: "We're excited to be offering something different for the town and to see that there's plenty of appetite from local businesses to make the most of this new, flexible and dedicated local service"
She continues, "I'm Keen to get many more local businesses benefitting from Ridley's Local. From fresh, frozen and ambient food and drink to professional cleaning supplies. Our selection also features the high-quality Caterfood Collection products and many popular local brands too. We've always been known for our high service levels and now our team is ready to pick and deliver your order as quality as you need it.".
One of the very first customers to benefit from this new service is Hendo's on Abbeygate Street, the town's ever-popular independent fish and chip shop. Hendo is a long-standing customer of Thomas Ridley and is now enjoying the local service.
Hendo's owner, Emily Henderson commented: "Ridleys Local is just that - a local company that can now supply us exactly when it's most convenient. It's great. I can even order everything on their website when I'm on holiday - knowing it will all be delivered quickly and exactly when we need it!".
Before introducing Ridley's Local, deliveries were limited to times and volumes more suited to one of Thomas Ridley's large delivery trucks accessing the town centre. Instead, this fresh new service - with an eye-catching new brand in a striking bright colour- is filling a much needed gap for the town and keeping this business local.
Another happy customer is Stuart Hansord of Midgar, a busy independent coffee on St John's Street, which has extensive seating inside and outside, utilising its recently refurbished courtyard area. Stuart added: "We try really hard to source all of our products from local suppliers and Thomas Ridley is a great fit for us because they're based just down the road. They stock the quality, local products that we want to have on our menu and the extended local service is fantastic for us."
"Operating in quite a small space here at Midgar, we just don't have a lot of storage, which makes ordering in larger volumes quite tricky for us. But now, we can order more frequently, knowing we won't get stung for extra delivery chargers. And if we're really busy - or we run out of something - we can now order same day delivery or delivery after we close for the next day. Which really helps us out!"
